Imaging the Bible in Wales - Research database

Project aims:

The project staff, based at the University of Wales, Lampeter, needed a database to manage their collection of several thousand images (and associated data) relating to biblical images in Wales. We developed the research database which was initially for internal use by the project team. On completion of the project in 2009 the database was made available on-line to the public, with a new interface designed to allow easy searching of the database. A DVD with direct links to the website was also produced. The database will be archived by the National Library of Wales.

Technical features:

The database and on-line interface was developed in PHP and mySQL.

Development partners:

The visual design of the public website was by Martin Crampin who was also responsible for the main project website. Technical development of the DVD was by mach2media

The website went live in January 2009
