One of our projects

Imaging the Bible in Wales

A project run by the University of Wales, Lampeter 2005-2008. Over the three-year period of the project, over 250 locations around Wales were visited and artworks in all media were photographed.

The material illustrates biblical characters, scenes and themes, and the research focussed on work relevant to the period 1825-1975.

Subsequently, the database has been substantially enlarged with the help of the Stained Glass in Wales Project (2009-11), and the database now includes in excess of 6,000 images and lists nearly 3,000 items.

Technical features:PHP and MySQL, with extensive use of Googlemaps. The site uses the Technoleg Taliesin content management tools to allow members of the project team to update the database. The site was updated in 2024-5 to support the latest versions of the core software.

Development partners:Visual design of the website and project logos was by Martin Crampin, development and build by Technoleg Taliesin.
